Rain, thunder and forest sounds, right in your browser
Deepwood is a forest you can walk into and listen to. Step in at dusk, walk between the trees into a clearing, and mix the sounds around you: rain, thunder, wind in the trees, birds, a stream, crickets and a campfire. Use it to fall asleep, to focus on work or study, or just to rest for a while.
The sounds
- Light rain. A soft, even patter on leaves, with the odd drip falling from a branch.
- Heavy rain. A full monsoon downpour on the canopy, with weight and depth.
- Thunder. Rolls that come and go at random: far grumbles, rolling cascades and close cracks, each after a flash of lightning.
- Wind in the trees. Gusts that rise and fall and move across the forest from one side to the other.
- Birds. Calls, whistles and trills with natural gaps, and an owl at night.
- Stream. A small brook bubbling over stones.
- Night insects. Crickets chirping in the dark, never quite in time with each other.
- Campfire. A warm low burn with crackles and the odd snap.
Each sound has its own volume, and you can mute any of them for a moment without losing your mix. The forest reacts too: rain falls on screen, lightning flashes before the thunder, and fireflies come out at night.
Ready-made places
Not sure where to start? Pick a place and the sounds blend in over a few seconds.
- Monsoon night: heavy rain, thunder and a few crickets in the dark.
- Morning birds: birdsong at dawn over a quiet brook.
- Storm: heavy rain, close thunder and strong wind.
- Deep forest: wind, birds and water in the middle of the day.
- By the fire: a campfire and crickets on a still night.
For sleep, focus and rest
- Sleep timer. Choose 15, 30 or 60 minutes and the forest fades out slowly at the end.
- Slow drift. The sounds shift a little by themselves over time, like a real forest, so it never feels like a loop.
- Time of day. Dawn, day, dusk or night. Birds sing more at dawn, crickets come out at night.
- Full screen. Hide the controls and just watch the trees.

Questions
- Is Deepwood good for sleep?
- Yes. Pick a calm place like Monsoon night or By the fire, set the sleep timer to 15, 30 or 60 minutes, and the sound fades out slowly at the end.
- Can I use it to focus while I work or study?
- Yes. Light rain, a stream or soft wind make a steady background that covers other noise. Turn on Slow drift so the sound changes a little over time and never feels like a loop.
- Does it work on phones?
- Yes. It works in the browser on phones, tablets and computers. Keep the page open while you listen, because some phones pause sound when the screen locks.
- Do I need headphones?
- No, but headphones sound best. You can hear thunder roll and wind move from one side to the other.
- Are these real recordings?
- No. Every sound is made live in your browser while you listen, so the rain and thunder never repeat in exactly the same way.
- Can I save or share my mix?
- Yes. Save a mix you like as one of your own places, or press Copy link to send it to a friend. They will hear the same forest you made.
